Michael Curran-Dorsano

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a film producer, or having your name in credits, then look no further. Michael Curran-Dorsano, who plays Lt “Gator” Mejia on “The Last Ship” needs YOU! “Leave” is a new short film that he is producing, and he sent us this message to share.

Hey all!

Just reaching out to tell you about this project I’ve been working on for some time. It’s an adaptation of a short story by Kurt Brindley, a retired Navy vet who, after a close call with serious illness, decided to start writing about his experiences serving.

LEAVE chronicles the story of a crew of sailors dealing with the arrival of the first female soldiers on the eve of the invasion of Haiti. Lawless, played by Michael Shaw, must also wrestle with the impending loss of his mother.

My studio Cinema Collaboratorium (http://www.cinemacollab.com) is producing, and Im acting in it. It’s also part of a new program called Emergence, where a series of LA based companies come together to tell a story from an otherwise unheard voice in the industry. The director they are supporting is the director of LEAVE, Caatje van Leeuwan (http://www.suncatproductions.com)

I know money is tight, but if any of you could donate to helping us tell this story we’d appreciate it dearly! We have such a great film planned! Help us bring this story to life!
